Emma Livingston is a British Argentine visual artist, born in Paris, and now based in Buenos Aires, Argentina.

Photography is a means for Emma to pay homage to the natural world: she is concerned with its vulnerability and yet weaved within her work are the ideas of nature’s resilience, philosophy and wisdom.   

Her work is a meditative exploration of our connectedness to nature, and of the symbolism and polarities found within the landscape and its elements.  

She is interested in depicting and recreating fragments of the natural world that are or appear to be unaffected, untouched, or uninfluenced by human presence. Her intention is to find a pause within nature’s incessant movement and infinite ability to draw ever changing patterns. Through different processes both in her drawings and photographs, Emma is interested in images that blur the lines between mediums, and in creating a space for stillness and silence, thus allowing for the more subtle feelings and sensations to emerge. 

Emma Livingston (b. 1976, Paris, France) graduated in History of Art at University College London, England. Her work has been in individual and group exhibitions in Argentina, Brazil, Mexico, the United States, France and Germany, and has been featured in international publications, including European Photography, NextLevel, Lensculture, and Loupe. She received First Prizes from the "London Photographic Association" (2007) and the "Px3" (2007) in France. She was nominated for the Prix Pictet Earth Award (2009) and was nominated a Discovery of the FOTOFEST Meeting Place (2010). She has been awarded one month residencies at the Vermont Studio Center (US) in 2017, and at the ARTELES Artist Residency in Finland, in 2022.

Emma Livingston es una artista británica argentina, nacida en Paris, y ahora basada en Buenos Aires, Argentina.

Para Emma, la fotografía es un medio para rendir homenaje al mundo natural: le preocupa su vulnerabilidad y, al mismo tiempo, entretejidas en su trabajo están las ideas de la resiliencia, la filosofía y la sabiduría de la naturaleza.

Su obra es una exploración meditativa de nuestra conexión con la naturaleza, y del simbolismo y las polaridades que se encuentran dentro del paisaje y sus elementos.

Está interesada en representar y recrear fragmentos del mundo natural donde no está o parece no verse afectado, ni influenciado por el ser humano. Su intención es encontrar una pausa dentro del movimiento incesante de la naturaleza, y de su infinita capacidad para crear dibujos en constante cambio. A través de diferentes procesos tanto en sus dibujos como en sus fotografías, Emma se interesa en imágenes que borran las líneas entre los medios, y en crear espacios para encontrar la quietud y el silencio, para así dejar emerger las sensaciones y emociones más sutiles.

Emma Livingston (n. 1976, París, Francia) se formó en Historia del arte en University College London, Inglaterra. Su trabajo formó parte de exposiciones individuales y colectivas en Argentina, Brasil, México, Estados Unidos, Francia y Alemania. Su obra fue incluida en publicaciones internacionales, incluyendo las revistas European Photography, NextLevel, Lensculture y Loupe. Recibió los Primeros Premios en los concursos de "London Photographic Association" (2007), y "Px3" (2007) en Francia. Fue nominada para el premio Prix Pictet Earth (2009) y fue nominada “Discovery” del FOTOFEST Meeting Place (2010). Ha sido premiada residencias de un mes en el Vermont Studio Center (EE. UU.) en Noviembre de 2017, y en ARTELES en Finlandia, en Febrero del 2022.
